What is Cronometer Gold?

Cico Pricing

Cronometer Gold price vs Cico
On November 2, 2026, Cronometer's Gold page listed Gold at $10.99 per month billed monthly, or $59.99 billed annually, which the page shows as $4.99 a month and labels "Save 54%". The US App Store purchase list showed Gold Monthly, Gold Subscription, and Cronometer Gold at $10.99, and Gold Annual at $59.99, each described as "No Ads & all of the Cronometer Gold features".
Cico's published price is $9.99 per month or $39.99 per year. Paid upfront, Cico's year works out to about $3.33 a month and Gold's to about $5.00. Twelve monthly payments total $119.88 for Cico and $131.88 for Gold. Check the renewal amount on your own checkout screen.
What Gold adds, and what Cico does instead
Gold's headline tools are Photo Log (snap a meal and it identifies the key ingredients and servings), Voice Log (speak to the app or Siri), and Crono Coach, which Cronometer describes as an in-app assistant that turns your own data, goals, and settings into short, personalized guidance. Gold also adds nutrition scores, custom charts, a recipe importer, repeat items, a macro scheduler, a fasting timer, Oracle nutrient search, custom biometrics, unlimited data history, and an ad-free app.
Cico keeps the subscription to one job. Photo, barcode, text, and voice logging feed a single running CICO score, and mini-challenges keep the daily view focused on that number rather than on charts and scores.
Nutrient detail or one CICO score
Cronometer's homepage says it can track up to 95 nutrients and compounds, and its Gold page describes a database of over 1 million lab-analyzed or verified foods. If you want to see vitamins, minerals, and nutrient targets for every meal, that is the job Cronometer Gold is built for. Cico does not publish a nutrient database of that scope.
Cronometer's Energy Summary shows three circles: Consumed, Burned, and a Target or Balance view. Its help article says your full-day BMR and baseline activity are logged at the start of each day, and activity from a synced tracker replaces the baseline estimate as the day goes on.
Cico puts the same calories-in, calories-out idea into one CICO score. The score is logged calories in minus estimated calories out. It starts at 0 at midnight and drops as your BMR is burned through the day and your Apple HealthKit steps and workouts add up. A score of −500 is an estimated 500-calorie deficit. It is an estimate, not a direct measurement of body-fat change.
Apple Health, devices, and switching apps
Cronometer syncs with Apple Health and Apple Watch on iPhone, with Health Connect or Samsung Health on Android, and with devices including Fitbit, Garmin, WHOOP, Oura, Dexcom, Polar, and Withings. Cico runs on iPhone with Apple Watch and uses Apple HealthKit activity. Cico calculates your BMR from your age, sex, height, and weight, which it pulls from Apple Health when you connect it, or you can enter them yourself.
Before switching, decide which history you need to keep. Connecting Apple Health is not the same as moving a whole food diary. Cronometer's App Store listing says a Gold subscription bought through Apple is managed or cancelled in your App Store account settings. Cancel there before you rely on a new app.
